Anna Sheather - Lead Coach

I set up Elan Coaching in January 2007 and since that time I have seen it evolve and grow so that I now provide executive coaching, leadership development workshops and supervision. I also work with leadership teams and am licensed to use Coaching Signatures, a profiling tool for coaches. More recently I have set up 'Art in Coaching' workshops for coaches who want to develop this transformational approach in their work. I have been practicing coaching for over 12 years having qualified with Henley Business School. I am an APECS Accredited Executive Coach (Association of Professional Executive Coaches) and a qualified coach supervisor holding the EMCC ESQA Certificate in Supervision from Bath Consultancy Group. 

My clients describe me as highly intuitive, insightful and challenging and they tend to work with me on:

  • Developing personal and/or leadership qualities and behaviours in a new or existing role
  • Personal and professional impact including stepping up into a leadership role
  • Building professional relationships including managing challenging people
  • Acting as a sounding board to talk through and explore key decisions for their organisation, department or team, including organisational change and restructures

I am a person centred coach working from the premise that each person has the resources they need to achieve their own success. I also work systemically exploring the systems context and dynamic that is often necessary to fully understand and resolve the issues at hand. Where appropriate I am happy to share my experiences and knowledge if it helps with a client’s thinking.

My clients are often leaders in their field with organisational leadership responsibilities. They include scientists, academics, legal and financial professionals, and clinicians as well IT, Financial and Operational Directors, and Chief Executives. The organisations I work with are also varied and currently include the University of Southampton, Bath Spa University, Alliance Pharmaceutical plc, Apetito Ltd, the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH).

Before setting up Élan Coaching I was a director of a niche strategic consulting firm for 6 years working with the boards and senior management teams of fast growing businesses. Prior to that I had a long career in the financial services industry including multi-million pound programme management and heading up the internal audit function for a financial services plc.

Tracy Barr – Associate Coach

Tracy is a Chartered Business Psychologist with over twenty years of consultancy experience, specialising in leadership development and coaching. She is an accredited executive coach and coaching supervisor and facilitates coaches’ development through training in coaching skills, reflective learning groups and individual and group coaching supervision.

Tracy’s style of coaching is both positive and supportive; she encourages individuals and teams to recognise their strengths and maximise their effectiveness as well as address potential development areas. She draws on a wide range of coaching techniques to stimulate and progress thinking and where helpful uses diagnostic tools such as 360 degree feedback, psychometric and personality profiling to support the coaching process. Another particular aspect of her work is helping clients to become more self aware, to gain insight into what drives their behaviour and what they are looking for from work; for instance, their personal motives, values, thinking styles and interpersonal needs.
 

Cathy Summers – Associate Coach

Cathy Summers is a professionally qualified and experienced coach, consultant and facilitator with over 20 years’ experience. Her background includes NHS senior management, management consultancy, retail and charity management and RAF air traffic control. Cathy has worked with individuals up to and including board level in the NHS, local government, universities, social enterprise and the private sector on team and individual development, leadership development, change leadership and career development. She is familiar with the challenges faced by leaders working within complex systems, operational demands and major change, including mergers and restructures.

Cathy now coaches clients in leadership development, team development, managing organisational and personal change, career development and work / life balance. Cathy holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring accredited by the Institute of Leadership & Management.
